Denise Krouse MC, LMHC, MDFT
Thank you for your interest in my psychotherapy and counseling practice. I have over 30 years of experience providing psychotherapy and support to people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, interpersonal and family conflicts, job related stress, parenting concerns and the impact of trauma, illness and life transitions on our daily lives. I also specialize in working with individuals and their loved ones dealing with the hardships presented by serious illness, end of life, and/or the death of a loved one.
Each experience is unique, complex, and personal. I use evidence-based treatment that includes insight-oriented therapy to explore your past and its possible effects on your current thoughts and feelings. I also use mindfulness based cognitive-behavioral therapy to help regulate and develop emotional control and cultivate more empathy and compassion. I am also trained in positive psychology to help change behavior and develop more positive ways to thinking. Having provided mental health counseling in multiple medical settings and am specifically trained to collaborate with medical professionals to get the best medical care possible. I also currently facilitate support groups for cancer patients.
I can provide a safe nurturing environment to probe and explore your current experience. I will assess for clinical signs of depression and anxiety, then together we will develop a treatment plan that reflects your needs and values with an end goal of reducing troublesome symptoms, developing more satisfaction in your personal relationships and cultivate healthier patterns of living.
